Position Summary:
The Program Supervisor for the Violence Prevention Program is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, coordination, and implementation of violence prevention initiatives aimed at reducing youth violence in the Roseland community. This role is designed for a dynamic leader who is passionate about fostering peace, building community trust, and ensuring the program's success through strategic leadership, mentorship, and engagement with youth and community partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Implementation and Oversight:
  • Supervise and lead the day-to-day operations of the Violence Prevention Program.
  • Oversee the delivery of violence prevention services to youth, ensuring adherence to program goals and objectives.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions, curricula, and best practices designed to reduce youth violence.
  • Develop and monitor a comprehensive program calendar, ensuring all activities and services are timely and relevant.
  • Staff Supervision and Support:
  • Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to program staff and youth workers.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Support staff with crisis management, de-escalation techniques, and conflict resolution.
  • Community Outreach and Collaboration:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local organizations, schools, law enforcement, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent the program in community meetings, forums, and events related to violence prevention and youth advocacy.
  • Facilitate workshops and presentations for youth and community members on topics such as conflict resolution, anger management, and peacebuilding.
  • Program Evaluation and Reporting:
  • Track and report program outcomes, including youth engagement, incidents of violence, and overall community impact.
  • Collect data for program evaluations and assist in writing reports to funders, stakeholders, and the community.
  • Work with the Program Director to ensure compliance with all reporting requirements.
  • Resource Development and Fundraising:
  • Collaborate with the Program Director to identify funding opportunities and assist with grant writing or securing additional resources for the program.
  • Develop and maintain a resource database of local services, support systems, and safety networks for youth.
  • Youth Advocacy and Support:
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for youth participants, ensuring they receive the emotional, educational, and social support they need.
  • Encourage youth participation in peer mentorship, leadership development, and other positive engagement opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in youth services, violence prevention, or related work.
  • Proven experience in managing and supervising staff, including providing mentorship and training.
  • Strong knowledge of violence prevention strategies, restorative justice practices, and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Ability to engage with diverse communities and build collaborative partnerships with local stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for community events or emergencies.
  • A passion for supporting youth development, reducing violence, and strengthening community ties.

Compensation:
Competitive salary based on experience, plus benefits (health, dental, retirement options).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
