What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3rd Shift Group Home Staff position at Youth Unlimited?
Scope of Essential Responsibilities:
1. Supervises clients in program according to program requirements and parameters
2. Demonstrates a proactive approach to problem solving
3. Completes required professional development
4. Creates a home-atmosphere that actively promotes love and acceptance in a highly structured environment providing each client opportunity to be responsible for his/her actions
5. Assist clients care for their babies / children by displaying a positive example and following agency program & expectations
6. Establishes and maintains professional working relationship with schools, parents, courts, social workers, case managers and any other parties involved in the treatment process
7. Assists in the development of person-centered plan objectives
8. Implements person centered plan objectives for each client on a daily basis
9. Provide regular feedback regarding client progress, maintaining accurate, appropriate and billable documentation notes
10. Transports staff and clients as necessary
11. Maintains accurate records including client files, medication/treatment charts, daily and weekly notes.
12. Assists in maintenance of the home in accordance with state guidelines & agency expectations
13. Performs other duties as requested
Work and Skill Requirements:
- 18 years or older
- Previous experience working with mental health populations
- Ability to pass Crisis Intervention (NCI – prevention and core)
- Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English
- Completion of or ability to pass CPR, First Aid, Seizure Management, Hemlich or similar maneuver, Medication Administration training courses & other related trainings
- Good leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to be sensitive to client cultural and social economic characteristics
Other Requirements:
- No criminal convictions relating to violent crimes, abuse, neglect, exploitation, drug use or drug trafficking
Educational Requirements:
- Requires one of the following:
- 1. A graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a human service field and has two years of full-time, post bachelor’s degree accumulated mh//dd/sa experience with a population served; or
- 2. A graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a field other than human services and has four years of full-time, post bachelor’s degree accumulated mh.dd.sa experience with the populations served
- 3. A graduate of high school with prior experience working with children & adolescents in a related field
Physical Requirements:
- Be of good physical and mental health, with no indication of active tuberculosis, communicable diseases or any other health conditions that may pose a threat to clients. This will be evaluated by passing a physical and TB skin test exam by a licensed physician and having passing the test biennially thereafter.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
