Youthworks is a 501(c)3 non-profit providing youth and family services throughout North Dakota since 1986. As a runaway and homeless youth program in the state of North Dakota, Youthworks provides support services to youth and their families helping to meet goals for strong, healthy relationships. Youthworks strives to ensure all youth have a safe place to belong and be heard. Offices are located in Bismarck, Fargo, Minot, and Grand Forks with services extending to the surrounding counties. Youthworks’ focus and expertise is working with homeless, runaway, trafficked and struggling teens as well as parents and young adults 24 years of age and under. Our programs are founded on the principles of trauma-informed care, positive youth development, and a harm reduction approach. Our services include street outreach, transitional housing for young adults and young parents, leadership programing, victim services programs, basic center and youth shelters, cultural programming, out of school suspension, and juvenile diversion programs.
The youth and families served at Youthworks come from a variety of backgrounds, and we strive to be a safe community for all youth regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion class, educational background, sexual orientation, gender identity, or ability status.
Job Duties:
These staff will provide on-site support for homeless young adults between the ages of 18-24 at their residence. Youth each have their own bedroom and share all common space.
Staff must have a valid driver’s license and be able to utilize an Agency vehicle to provide support services in the community.
Position Duties:
· Provide on-site support to youth with the skills of daily living. This may include: helping youth set daily goals and overcoming barriers to reaching those goals, assisting with conflict resolution, and enforcing house rules.
· Provide community support such as: transportation, accessing vital documents, searching for employment, enrolling in school, applying for public assistance, etc.
General Duties/Expectations:
- Provide emotional, social, and practical support within limits
- Role model healthy, trusting relationships using clear communication and setting appropriate boundaries
- Acknowledge and find opportunities to demonstrate each youth’s strengths, talents, and gifts,
- Empower youth to resolve personal issues through a problem-solving model
- Complete thorough documentation of activities with youth
- Utilize weekly supervision with Program Manager
- Incorporate skills taught in mentor trainings, supervision, and meetings
- Continuously challenge own practice by exploring personal thought processes, inherent biases, and values
- Complete other duties and activities as assigned
Documentation
· Collect and maintain accurate data on a weekly basis.
· Document relevant and significant events that occur through incident reports.
· Maintain clear and effective communication with other staff regarding youth.
· Maintain client confidentiality.
Professional Development
· Attend professional trainings/continuing education units (CEUs).
· Obtain weekly supervision from Program Manager.
Work Schedule:
This is a part time position. Work hours are flexible and will be negotiated with each employee.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have outgoing, personal, and relational skills, to appropriately and respectfully engage with the youth and families that are served through Youthworks.

Compensation:
This is a part-time position which pays $17.00 per hour.
