We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Quality Management to oversee the quality program for our hospital facility. In this critical leadership role, the Director will be responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing success of patient safety initiatives, continuous quality improvement programs, and proactive risk management strategies. The Director will also lead the infection prevention and control and employee health programs to ensure high standards of care, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the enhancement of overall organizational reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Program Leadership: Develop, implement, and oversee patient safety initiatives, risk management strategies, and infection control programs to enhance the overall quality of care.
- Continuous Quality Improvement: Lead and support inter- and intra-departmental quality improvement efforts, utilizing quality tools (such as root cause analysis, failure mode effects analysis, statistical process control) to guide process improvement and problem-solving.
- Compliance & Accreditation: Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory bodies and accreditation standards. Continuously monitor, maintain, and improve standards to meet or exceed these requirements.
- Risk Management: Develop and implement proactive risk management initiatives to identify, mitigate, and address potential risks to patient care and safety.
- Team Leadership & Development: Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development for quality management staff. Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous learning across all departments.
- Policy & Procedure Development: Oversee the planning, development, and evaluation of policies, procedures, and practices related to quality management functions. Ensure they align with best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Data Analysis & Benchmarking: Utilize data analytics and statistical methods to benchmark organizational performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and track the effectiveness of quality initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership, department heads, and clinical teams to ensure alignment of quality goals with the hospital’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Reporting & Communication: Regularly communicate quality performance metrics and improvement outcomes to hospital leadership, staff, and external stakeholders as required.
Required Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- OR a 2-year associate degree with 5 years of relevant experience in Quality, Risk, or Infection Control.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of acute care or hospital experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of Quality experience in a leadership role.
- Prior experience as a Director of Quality Management or in a similar role is preferred.
- Licensure/Certifications:
- Must hold an active clinical license (e.g., RN, RT, or equivalent).
- CIHQ IC or CIQH-HACP-CMS certification (or equivalent) is required, or the commitment to obtain within 2 years.
