Duties
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide support to students in academic tasks, ensuring they understand the material and can participate fully in classroom activities.
- Foster a positive and nurturing classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Help manage classroom behavior by implementing strategies outlined by the teacher.
- Support students during transitions between activities, ensuring they feel secure and comfortable.
- Communicate effectively with students, using techniques such as American Sign Language when necessary.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt lesson plans and materials for students with different learning abilities.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding individual student needs.
- Assist in the care of toddlers or young children, focusing on their developmental milestones.
Qualifications
- Experience in early childhood education or working with children is preferred.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or other child-centered educational approaches is a plus.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices is essential.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with children, parents, and staff members.
- Experience or training in literacy education is beneficial for supporting reading skills among students.
