Job Title: Substance Use Counselor
Under the supervision of a licensed clinician, provides various village-based services, including substance use assessments, crisis stabilization, case management, screenings, and rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct substance use assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide counseling services to clients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address client needs and coordinate care.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide emergency response and crisis intervention services.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and statistical data as required.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and referral sources.
Requirements:
- Education: High school or GED equivalent; commitment to advancing through certification program.
- Experience: Two years in Community Services, volunteer work acceptable if documented; demonstrates mature judgment, strong communication skills, and flexibility.
- Certifications/Licenses: Plan to obtain Substance Abuse Counselor certification; advance to BHA-I certification under supervisor's guidance.
- Skills: Strong computer skills, good telephone etiquette, bilingual Yup'ik/English/Regional preferred.
