Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Specimen Collector to join our team at Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation. As a key member of our laboratory staff, you will be responsible for collecting lab specimens and performing basic laboratory tests and reporting results.
Responsibilities:
- Collecting blood and other bodily fluids from patients in a safe and efficient manner.
- Labeling and processing specimens for testing.
- Operating various laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Reporting test results to healthcare providers and maintaining accurate records.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Completion of on-the-job training, including a course of study in medical terminology or anatomy and physiology, is necessary.
- Certification as a phlebotomy technician through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Registry or equivalent national certification must be obtained within one year.
