Under minimal supervision, the Enterprise IT Systems Engineer performs technical duties to support the Information Technology Services Department's pillars of Lead, Innovate, and Protect; this includes planning, installing, coordinating, maintaining, upgrading, and supporting computer systems, as well as their hardware and software components; the engineer leads efforts to ensure the systems operate efficiently, administers and modifies systems to maintain proper security, and implements system software upgrades for servers and applications; the role also focuses on innovating system enhancements, resolving technology issues, and providing technical support to customers; this position has County wide responsibility. Provide technical support, design, install, configure, maintain, and perform system integration to our organization; execute key projects to advance technological capabilities in all workforce and public-facing delivery channels; administer and support Microsoft Server OS, VMware, ESXi, resource pools, and Storage architecture technologies; administer and supported Microsoft Active Directory, Azure, Exchange, and data shares; researches and analyzes enterprise system-related problems in functional areas by evaluating workflows, interviewing employees, or investigating work practices; design, install, configure, and deploy internal and workforce-facing servers within the Development, Staging, Production, and Disaster Recovery infrastructures; develop and implement project plans, risk assessments, and contingency plans; define and document best practices and support procedures; assist with hardware, firewall, IT DevOps, software vendor evaluation, recommendation, and negotiations; mentor/cross-train team members on existing and innovative technologies; may provide supervisory support for senior personnel; participate in system hardware migration and upgrade projects; conducts system needs assessment and requirements definition; performs feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis; prepares and produces project proposals and reviews vendor contracts; develops technical manuals and documentation, tracks and documents all work in a service desk system; work in an environment of on-premise and Software as a Subscription (SaaS) enterprise systems; test and Deploy system security patches and service packs; test, Analyze, and Deploy cybersecurity controls consistent with County cybersecurity policies and compliance/regulatory requirements; provides support to existing clients in identifying and resolving medium to highly complex production issues; effectively communicates project expectations and status to all team members and stakeholders, including business representatives, partners, clients, and implementation team members; participates in and occasionally leads regularly scheduled team meetings to identify installation issues and lead team members with problem resolutions; review server log files regularly to ensure systems operate at peak efficiency and performance; monitors network environment, access, security, functionality, and utilization; resolves traffic, security, and access issues; assures optimum network performance, system integrity, and maximum uptime; maintain information and data confidentially; provides on-call, 24/7 support as needed or required; tegular and reliable attendance is required; performs other duties as assigned.A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; 4 years of experience in supporting enterprise applications, with at least two years in a senior or lead role; Microsoft (MCITP/MCSE/MCSA), Cisco (CCNA/CCNP/CCSP), or equivalent certifications; Extensive experience administering, configuring, managing, installing, and troubleshooting VMware, PowerShell, AWS, Azure, Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 operating systems, IIS Web Applications, and Active Directory.; Experience with cloud network technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure); Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices; Proven ability to manage and lead complex projects; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
