Reports to: Director of Housing and Supportive Services

Position Summary: The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the prompt cleaning of empty shelter rooms and overseeing the sorting of received donations. This position requires working closely and cooperatively with Shelter Case Managers, volunteers, and resident volunteers.

The candidate would be responsible for:

Housekeeping Duties:

• Cleaning resident rooms as soon as they are vacated in the Emergency Shelter and Family Shelter. Cleaning includes changing linens and wiping all surfaces down, cleaning floors, sinks, and room refrigerators and/or working with shelter resident volunteers to delegate cleaning tasks.
• Laundering soiled items as needed to ensure clean bedding for new residents.
• Reporting all failures of broken equipment in a timely manner.
• Ensuring regular cleaning of common spaces.
• Communicating purchasing needs to immediate supervisor.

Other duties:

• Treating all residents with fairness and respect.
• Other duties as required by Supervisor.

Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Work schedule is Monday-Friday. Ability to lift/maneuver objects as needed. Position involves repetitive movement, reaching and bending.

Required Education:

• High School diploma or equivalency.

Required license or certification:

• None.

Applicant must pass criminal background check and drug test.
