What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Substitute position at YWCA Cortland?
The Front Desk Substitute position provides an environment where members and customers are treated in a friendly and helpful way. Usually works unsupervised and must be able to make independent decisions within YWCA guidelines. This position staffs the front desk Thursday and Friday evenings, and Saturdays, and substitutes for other front desk staff as needed. Depending on need, additional hours or alternate schedules will be offered.

Responsibilities:
- Schedule Management – updating and maintaining organization’s building space calendars
- Transaction Management – taking cash, credit and online transactions
- Service Knowledge and Communication- learning and helping to promote the organization’s four programs
- Customer Service- maintaining a welcoming, friendly, and positive front desk experience
- Administrative Skills- copying, faxing, scanning, data entry, answering phones, etc.
- Support Administration- Assisting development and finance departments with projects on occasion
Qualifications:
Required
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service experience with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to manage financial transactions accurately
- Ability to learn and use online database program proficiently
Working Conditions:
- Front line office conditions, noisy at times. Works lunch hours, evenings and weekends as scheduled.
