What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard position at YWCA Cortland?
Applicants will be expected to carry on lifeguarding duties including lifesaving pool supervision, handling any discipline problems, and general first aid.
Responsibilities:
- Guarding during open swim, lap and leisure, swim lessons, water exercise classes and pool parties.
- Keeping a head count of how many swimmers are in the pool every half-hour.
- Tracking the sign-in sheet, making sure all swimmers sign-in.
- Taking daily, morning, afternoon and evening chlorine and Ph reading.
- Set up and take down equipment for swimming lessons and water exercise classes.
- Sweep, deck, and organize equipment during down time.
- Follow EAP, provide care and fill out an accident report for all incidences.
Qualifications:
All applicants must have current American Red Cross Lifeguard training or the equivalent water certification. First Aid and Safety, and CPR for the Professional rescuer. Previous lifeguard experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
Working Conditions:
Exposure to chemicals in pool area.

Pool Supervisor and Community Wellness Director

Pay: $15.75 per hour
