What are the responsibilities and job description for the YWCA Cortland Before and After School Counselors position at YWCA Cortland?
Before and After School Counselors will work Monday through Friday throughout the remainder of the school year (through end of June) at local elementary and intermediate schools in Cortland and Homer, NY. We are looking for energetic individuals to work with and supervise children. Counselors will be working with groups of 10-20 children, ages 5 years to 12 years old. Staff are responsible for the supervision of children, implementing recreational activities, maintaining a safe environment for children, completing required site paperwork, and communicating with families.
Program hours between 6:30am to 8:45am and then 2:30pm to 5:45pm, before and after school, Monday through Friday. Recreation and education majors in college and local individuals who want to work with children are encouraged to apply! There may be potential for a few full days occasionally, following school calendars with hours between 6:45 am to 5:30pm.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $15.35 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 15 per week
