What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Counselors (Seasonal) position at YWCA of Cortland?
The YWCA Cortland Summer Camp Counselor is a temporary position. Individuals usually work between 8.5 to 9 hours a day with lunch break if full time, and 4 to 5 hours if part time either am hours starting at 6:30am or midday shifts for lunch breaks or closing until 5:30pm. The position will be for 8 weeks this summer from starting June 30th through August 22nd with a few training dates prior to the start of camp. Counselors are responsible for supervising and interacting with a group of 10-20 children (for groups more than 10 there will be a second counselor). Counselors need to maintain a safe and healthy environment, and implement recreational activities for children, ages 5 years to 12 years. Summer staff need to be energetic and ready for a busy and fun summer with lots of indoor, outdoor, and swimming recreational activities. Expect Friday enrichment days and field trips to be a full day of fun and work with transportation to our two bus field trips.

Pay: $15.50 - $15.75 per hour
