Description
YWCA Hartford Region seeks a dynamic Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications Manager to positively impacting the community’s perception of YWCA’s brand through marketing and communication! The role will develop and implement marketing initiatives and related activities reflective of the organization’s strategic plan. Additionally, they will oversee the communication efforts of the organization!
Position Summary: Promote YWCA’s mission and vision, encouraging engagement from donors and program participants, supporting fundraising and recruitment efforts, and oversite of the communication efforts of the organization. .
Essential Functions:
Strategic Planning and Branding
- Creates, implements, and measures the success of comprehensive and strategic marketing plans to a variety of audiences (i.e., donors, participants and the general public);
- Creates campaigns to build brand awareness and convey consistent messaging and clear calls to action to support the organization’s programs and services.
- Shares the impact on the community through multichannel marketing/communication initiatives;
- Promotes branding strategies and guidelines; reviews and edits materials created by others to maintain brand standards and integrity;
Marketing
- Identifies opportunities to positively position YWCA Hartford Region in the community to elevate our brand;
- Identifies priorities and creates content to promote programs and services to internal and external stakeholders, including community partners, donors and general public and ensure seamless integration of both long-term, seasonal campaigns and short-term tactical efforts;
- Plans and executes digital marketing campaigns across various channels, such as, email marketing, content marketing, display advertising, search engine marketing (SEM), and social media advertising;
- Manages and executes postings across organization’s social media platforms; utilizes SEO; stays current with industry trends and assures that efforts are aligned with current events and cultural movements related to our mission;
Communication
- Oversees and monitors the compilation, writing and lay-outs of monthly e-blast update newsletters and/or other electronic pieces for internal and external audiences
- Oversees and monitors messaging for various communication needs of the Development Dept. and other departments, as needed (i.e., donor communication, newsletters, thank you letters, Social Enterprise initiatives, staff newsletters and invitations);
- Finalizes copy for professional design of printed materials (i.e., donor newsletters, flyers, signage, programs, brochures, etc.);
Data, Reports and Trends
- Assists CDO in developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPI) for department and advises on needed adjustments;
- Track and analyze marketing campaign performance, website analytics and social media metrics to measure effectiveness;
- Collects and analyzes data to develop and revise messaging to assure it resonates with segmented audiences;
- Remains up-to-date with industry trends, emerging marketing techniques, and best practices in the non-profit sector to ensure innovative and effective marketing strategies;
Collaboration and Partnership
- Works with CDO in creating and monitoring department budget;
- Assists with duties such as: promoting event across-channels, assuring sponsor promotion commitments are completed, event-specific requirements as needed.
- Works with CDO to identify marketing opportunities, research feasibility and implement/ oversee 3rd party implementation of appropriate tactics;
- Manages vendors to assure materials will be produced in a timely manner;
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor degree required, preferably in Marketing, Market Planning, Marketing Management, Business or related field;
- Combination of Associate degree and experience will be taken into consideration, in lieu of Bachelor degree.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of direct marketing experience in content creation, outreach and marketing, required;
- Exceptional creative writing and editing skills, with ability to meet competing deadlines, required;
- Demonstrated proficiency in social media trends and best practices and other digital marketing skills, required;
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teams to deliver excellent results and maintain collegial work environment, required;
- Experience in or understanding of nonprofit fundraising, preferred;
- Ability to create marketing collateral materials to support public awareness campaigns required;
- Flexibility as the position may require evening and weekend hours to support fundraising and/or program activities;
- Travel within Greater Hartford may be required.
