Job Description
Position: Aquatics Program Coordinator
Classification: Non-exempt, full time
Reports to: Aquatics Director
Position Summary: The Aquatics Program Coordinator works under the supervision of the Aquatics Director assisting with program implementation of aquatics programming including, but not limited to: Flow Motion, Swim Lessons, and Welcome to Water. Also assist with scheduling and training Front Desk. This position is a full time position not to exceed 35 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Understanding of YWCA Aquatics programming, membership, mission and vision.
· Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization;
· At least 3 years’ experience in Aquatics
· American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification;
· American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (or ability to get within 6 months);
· Certified Pool Operator (or ability to get within 6 months);
· American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification (or ability to get within 6 months);
· Excellent organizational skills;
· Ability to work unsupervised;
· A valid North Carolina Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
· Perform outreach and marketing to grow the YWCA Aquatics Programs
· Serve as main point of contact for participant questions and concerns for swim lessons
· Maintain all lesson paperwork, onboarding and paperwork including system notes, rosters, pre-lesson communication (Daxko Engage) in accordance with current processes
· Teach and sub lessons as needed.
· Identify ideas, goals, and action plan for increasing diversity of program participants (diversity in age, socioeconomic background, and racial/ethnic background)
· Assist with swim lesson programming by mentoring/training new instructors, assisting with volunteers and interns, maintaining rosters and other duties as assigned.
· Serve as point of contact when Aquatics Director is unavailable
· Train and schedule front desk staff
· Continue to develop front desk staff training and communication materials
· Pulling monthly reports for maintaining membership accounts
· Coordinate and recruit volunteers as needed
· Coordinate special events as needed
· Act as “manager on duty” for Aquatics Center at least one weekend per month
· Able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds
· Able to work indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions
Professional Development & Growth:
· Keep abreast of and in compliance with all current local, state and national issues related to the program and the YWCA.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
