How does this position make an impact on the community? The Volunteer Program Manager assists all programs within the YWCA Missoula with volunteer recruitment, training and retention and coordination of schedules. The Volunteer Program Manager also evaluates and updates current volunteer practices and materials for the agency. This position also acts as an advocate for the Pathways Program when the team needs extra support in the DV shelter or for walk in assessments. Performance of duties reflects the YWCA’s value that all people will be treated with respect and dignity and approached with recognition of their individual importance.

Position Specific Responsibilities:
- Recruit, select, and evaluate volunteers for YWCA programs and Secret Seconds Thrift Stores.
- Maintain an accurate volunteer database, tracking hours worked, contact information, and scheduled shifts.
- Lead volunteer retention efforts, including appreciation events, meetings, training sessions, leadership pipelines, check-ins, and monthly newsletters.
- Keep the Volunteer Management policy and procedure manual up to date.
- Develop and administer program evaluations, including training assessments, advocate feedback, and crisis-line evaluations.
- Design and implement biannual Advocate Training for new staff and volunteers.
- Conduct orientations for new volunteers.
- Oversee group service projects and shelter meal volunteers.

- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and auto insurance compliant with Montana state law.
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field, or equivalent education/experience.
- Must pass a background check to ensure the safety of YWCA program participants.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1 year volunteer coordination, hiring or managing experience required.
- Highschool Diploma or Equivalency Diploma required.
- Bachelor's degree in human services, educational or business administration field preferred but not required.
What else you should know: This position is full-time, 32 hours per week. The schedule is Monday through Friday. The base wage for this position starts at $28/hour – higher wage would be based on experience calculated using YWCA Missoula’s wage matrix.
