What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Justice Center Legal Education & Outreach Advocate position at YWCA Of Eastern Union County?
JOB SUMMARY
The Union County Family Justice Center (FJC) is a collaboration among existing public and private agencies in Union County, NJ, to provide support, services, and resources for victims of domestic violence, with the goal of making these services more accessible and available. The collaboration represents a true integration of services that is fully client-centered and meets the needs of clients in a holistic manner and in a single location.
The Legal Education and Outreach Advocate position will assist in educating current litigants about how to navigate family court, and the wider community about the dynamics of domestic violence and the rights of domestic violence victims in civil and criminal cases. This position will work closely with the Court Advocate and report to the Director of the Family Justice Center.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree.
- Must be interested in working with victims of domestic violence.
- Previous experience teaching or training preferred.
