JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: CRISIS WORKER
REPORTS TO: Director of Client Services
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: On Call, Flexible hours, non-exempt
COMPENSATION: Daily $50 stipend to carry crisis phone. Hourly rate when activated - see range below.
JOB PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE: Aid victims of sexual assault and domestic violence in obtaining services
SUMMARY OF DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Provides professional representation for the YWCA with clients and the Walla Walla Community.
2. Triages the YWCA crisis phone line in order to handle crisis response.
3. Provides support to sexual assault and domestic violence victims.
4. Provides intakes to clients after hours in need of temporary shelter.
5. Provides individual empowerment-focused advocacy.
6. Completes all documentation and digital files in a timely and accurate manner.
7. Maintains confidentiality of any information regarding clients, staff, and YWCA. business in accordance with laws, contracts, and YWCA policy.
8. Collaborates with community agencies to meet the needs of YWCA clients.
9. Remains current in sexual assault and domestic violence training and requirements.
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Valid Washington driver’s license.
2. Ability to pass a Washington Criminal Background check.
3. Ability to work with diverse populations with an outgoing, friendly, equitable and welcoming manner.
4. Ability to develop harmonious working relationships with all YWCA staff and the general public.
5. Ability to communicate effectively.
6. Commitment to increasing cultural competency.
7. Ability to project a positive and professional image of the YWCA to all the communities.
8. Ability to perform duties and follow policies and procedures.
9. Ability to plan and organize tasks independently.
10. Ability to use a computer and software appropriate for job requirements.
EXPERIENCE AND TAINING REQUIREMENTS
1. One-year experience in social services or crisis response preferred. Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job will be considered.
2. Experience with communicating or working well with survivors from a variety of racial, cultural, and economic backgrounds, with various religious beliefs, lifestyles, sexual orientations, age variance, and differing abilities.
3. Experience working independently with limited supervision.
4. Knowledge of community resources and other partnership agencies.

Pay: $19.50 - $22.50 per hour
