What are the responsibilities and job description for the QUALITY COATINGS INSPECTOR II position at Zachry Group?
Zachry is currently seeking an experienced Quality Coatings Inspector for our PLNG project located in Port Sulphur, Louisiana.
Position Summary:
Perform in-process inspections of craft work to ensure adherence to owner’s specifications, governing codes, and manufacturer’s recommendations. Inspections to be performed include but are not limited to environmental checks, surface preparation, verify storage and use of specified material, WFT, DFT, and proper cure, and field inspection (Quality Control) of Internal Lining/Coating. Validate all inspection activities by documenting on the correct forms, ITR’s, or other media approved by the project’s ITP or SOP.
Responsibilities:
- Performs examinations, inspections, or tests as required by project management and/or client/owner.
- Issues the relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, writes and sends to QC Supervisor non-conformances reports.
- Provides technical assistance to project management in selecting optimum construction procedures and/or techniques to meet project specifications.
- Provides technical assistance to project management regarding the selection of tools, instruments, and test equipment to assist in the project quality control effort.
- Coordinates examination, inspection, and test plans with project management and client representatives.
- Completes and maintains inspection, test, examination, and Quality Control Records.
- Check conformity with the Quality Control Plan, obtain the relevant documentation, verifies procedures and equipment to be used in tests, controls and inspections, manage documents certifying tests, controls and inspections.
Required Qualifications - Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Must have current NACE CIP Level II
- 5 years’ related experience within oil and gas industry
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Package. Familiar with other computer packages (e.g., MS Project, Outlook, Bluebeam, etc.)
- Must have good aptitude and manual dexterity
- Ability to read and understand Manufacturer Application Data Sheets.
- Personal characteristics of attention to detail and conviction to reject work that does not meet expectations.
- Minimum current NACE Level II
- Experience with Aerogel insulation, intumescent fireproofing, and cementitious fireproofing.
