We are looking for a licensed Associate Alabama attorney who has the expertise and skill to help manage specialized/technical work with confidence and competence. The job environment is fast-paced and structured while maintaining quality. The job allows for high volume, technical problem-solving, task-oriented and detailed work with high quality and accuracy. A key aspect of the job includes working through high volumes of cases and working with courts, attorneys and clients to resolve cases. This job allows for autonomy and independence and is primarily self-reliant but requires working directly with Firm leaders and management as a team. The team member has a shared responsibility with all other team members for work output, quality standards, and meeting guidelines and client requirements.
Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for litigation cases assigned by firm and filed with courts as licensed by the state bar of the applicable state, including but not limited to:
o Court appearances for trials, hearings, and appearance for mediation/arbitration proceedings.
o Case management of cases set for court appearance
o Negotiation and communication with opposing attorneys/ defendants.
o Responds to all questions, issues, and status checks throughout the litigation process, escalating as necessary and resolving all issues.
o Communicates with court and court officials, opposing attorneys, and defendants regarding case status
o Drafts pleadings necessary to further court proceedings
o Responds to legal pleadings as necessary.
· Minimum of 2 years experience
- Review, sign and approve all firm legal pleadings in states in which the attorney is licensed
· Reviews of new placements to approve initial outgoing letters for client and legal requirements as assigned
· Keeps abreast of current legal requirements federally and in states in which they practice
· Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills
· Integrated problem solving and resolution
· Strong legal skills, public appearance with appropriate demeanor
· Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Ability to work effectively in a multi-task, high volume environment
· Ability to work as a team with litigation staff and attorneys
Travel – Occasional travel to appear in court
Experience with MS Office, Word and Excel
Collections and recoveries experience a plus
Litigation experience in a high-volume firm is a plus
