Field Support Specialist
Zato is an Italian based Manufacture of Metal and Scrap Metal Recycling with over 20 Years of Experience. Our complete range of customized metal shredding solutions meets any production requirement: including demolition shears, pre-shredders, hammermill shredders, and scrap cleaning plants. We are taking our next step by adding a dedicated Zato North America facility.

Essential Duties
• This role requires a flexible work schedule, with 80-90% of the time dedicated to travel, primarily within the domestic region, though occasional international trips will be required.
• Managing machine installations, on-site repairs, regular maintenance, and upgrades to machinery.
• Leading customer service operations by addressing inquiries via phone or directly visiting customer locations.
• Providing a daily written report outlining the tasks completed on that specific day.
• After each installation, repair, maintenance, or upgrade activity, submitting a detailed report including customer acceptance stamp and signature when applicable.
• Building and maintaining strong business relationships with key decision-makers at major accounts.
• Provide remote support to the customers via phone, email, or text for troubleshooting or training.
• Works closely with third party vendors when outside repairs are needed.
• Actively engages with production team to improve production, equipment performance and product quality for long term success.
• Assist and/or lead special projects with equipment improvement and development linked to your area of expertise.
• Assist with the Hebron Parts facility as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Hard Skills
• Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings
• Skilled in reading electrical schematics and performing troubleshooting
• Experienced in the installation and maintenance of heavy machinery and equipment
• Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying and resolving issues
• Ability to follow instructions effectively and collaborate well with team members
• Knowledge of the scrap metal and recycling industry is a plus
• Proficiency in Spanish is an added advantage
• Ability to read and troubleshoot hydraulic drawings is a plus
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Advanced vocational degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial equipment industry.
- Experience traveling to perform service or installations preferred.
- Proficient in the use of a computer and typical software programs (Microsoft & ERP Systems)
- Microsoft Excel experience is required
