Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring that materials and supplies are sourced efficiently to support production planning and operational needs. The ideal candidate will have experience with inventory control systems and a strong understanding of sourcing strategies.
Duties (Unique Industry Knowledge Required)
- Coordinate purchasing activities to ensure timely acquisition of materials and supplies.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate contracts and establish favorable pricing agreements.
- Monitor inventory control processes to maintain optimal stock levels and reduce excess inventory.
- Assist in production planning by forecasting material requirements based on demand.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Prepare reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and inventory status for management review.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement transactions and contracts.
Requirements
- Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles, preferably within a retail environment.
- Familiarity with contract negotiation and management processes.
- Proficiency in using Lightspeed, Shopify, or similar inventory control systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate pricing strategies and supplier options.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of production planning principles is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
