ZEN Associates, Inc., an award-winning Landscape Architecture Design Build firm, is currently looking for a full-time Assistant Project Estimator to join our team. We are searching for an individual who has some experience estimating residential and commercial landscape construction projects and is looking for a growth opportunity.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist in the preparation of accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects - Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to identify project requirements and constraints
· Collaborate with Senior Estimator and project managers to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
· Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare material and labor cost estimates
· Research and analyze historical data, market trends, and industry standards to ensure accurate cost projections
· Prepare bid packages and submit proposals to clients
· Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as required
· Assist in the negotiation of contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
· Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and provide regular updates to management
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred
· 1-3 years of experience in construction, estimating or related field
· Proficient in using construction estimating software
· Strong analytical and mathematical skills
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
· Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
This position is suitable for candidates looking to develop their skills in construction estimating. Training will be provided, but some prior experience or education in the field is preferred.
