What are the responsibilities and job description for the Academic Support Specialist position at Zen Educate?
Zen Educate is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Teacher to support licensed teachers in K-12 classrooms. As a member of our team, you'll assist in implementing academic adaptations and individualized education plans (IEPs), maintaining a safe and engaging classroom environment, and providing timely support to students in crisis situations.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed staff in adapting curriculum to meet student needs.
- Work individually or in small groups to support students' self-care and social/behavioral needs.
- Maintain a safe and engaging classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Provide timely support to students in crisis situations.
- Tailor support to each student's needs using various learning methods.
Required Qualifications
- Education: 60 college credits or higher, or one of the following: a passing score on the Paraeducator Assessment or the Paraprofessional Assessment.
- Language & Authorization: Professional proficiency in English and U.S. Work Authorization.
- Experience: At least 1-year experience working with children in any structured setting.
