What are the responsibilities and job description for the C-130 Aircraft - Crew Chief position at Zenetex LLC?
The Crew Chief will be able to meet all AMI responsibilities as described in DOL standards and have the ability to repair and troubleshoot malfunctions on C-130, aircraft and components and be able to perform general mechanical maintenance and operational checks of the assigned systems equivalent to the USAF 5-skill level.
Specific responsibilities may include:
- Performing scheduled, unscheduled, special and phase maintenance inspections
- Performing corrosion prevention and treatment to include repainting surfaces on squadron aircraft
- Inspecting and making repairs to rubber and plastic components used in the aircraft structure
- Cleaning, treating, priming and applying approved top coat paint surfaces to protect body of aircraft
- Troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and fuel system discrepancies operating the required tooling and equipment while observing safety and contamination standards
- Performing maintenance in the removal, repair, replacement, and installation of aircraft component parts such as wings, control surfaces, access panels, landing gear doors, engine access doors/cowlings, component rigging, and landing gear
- Operating support equipment for flight line maintenance
Physical Demands
Mechanic must be able to perform or execute within individual or team construct on C-130 Aircaft:
- Application of aircraft power
- Aircraft tow operations
- Aircraft cabin pressure/environmental checks
- Flight control checks and rigging
- Hydraulic checks
- Aircraft jacking
- Aircraft shoring/cribbing
- Aircraft refuel/defuel
- Aircraft liquid oxygen (LOX) servicing/de-servicing
- Aircraft systems lock-out/tag-out
- Aircraft systems checkout
- Operation of all powered and non-powered aerospace ground equipment (AGE)
- Operation of special purpose vehicles such as tugs, forklifts, cranes, and manlifts
- Communicate with USAF production elements via land mobile radios (LMR), government cell/office phones to coordinate and advise a supported unit for lateral support, when required and approved by the COR.
- Support OSDS CFT indirect activities such as inventory management and OSDS shop organization/clean up.

- C-130 Aircraft maintenance support to complete or expedite a depot repair
- C-130 On aircraft maintenance installation, removal, troubleshooting, verifying serviceability
- This position will require U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a thorough government background investigation
