Position Overview :

ZENETEX has become a major force in the field of aircraft maintenance. We proudly support all four branches of the military in performing Organizational, Intermediate, and Depot level aircraft, ground vehicle, and component maintenance. We have an immediate opportunity for an Aircraft Mechanic III Avionics to support our Contractor Field Team (CFT) at Tyndall AFB, FL.

Description :

The Aircraft Mechanic II will require additional skills and work experience on a non-standard airplane models belonging to the United States Air Force (USAF). The USAF E-9a (DeHavilland Airplane, Model : DHC8-315 Dash 8). Specific duties will include but are not limited to :

  • Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneumatic, hydraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
  • Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, rivet gun and drills.
  • Read and interpret manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and wiring schematics to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Use chemical sealants and petroleum products.
  • Requisition repair parts, materials, and consumable supplies through military and commercial supply systems.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by Lead Mechanic.

Qualifications :

  • Must be able to perform all duties set forth in the DOL Aircraft Mechanic II (23022) labor category description
  • Must have at least two years of work experience on military aircraft or civilian equivalent aircraft
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • FAA A&P mechanic license is REQUIRED
  • Familiarity with USAF forms and records preferred
  • Fixed-Wing and Aircraft Turbine Engine Maintenance experience preferred
  • Prior military and / or experience and / or oversight of Government Contract Maintenance is a plus
  • Special Considerations

  • Must have a valid state issued vehicle driver's license.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical
  • Must be able to climb ladders, raised platforms, and in and on top of aircraft
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools and the dexterity to handle small parts
  • Physical Demands

  • Work will require a high level of hand dexterity and finger use in both hands, close vision corrected / uncorrected to 20 / 20, prolonged periods of standing and sitting in combination with stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, and pushing, as well as ability to lift 25lbs and over with assistance.
  • Work Environment (ADA)

  • May be required to work in areas in the hangar and on the flight line that are noisy and dusty. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. May be required to wear personal protective equipment, when applicable.
  • Security Clearance :

  • Must be able to pass a government background check in order to obtain a DoD Civilian and Contractor (CAC) Identification Card for entry onto various military bases and for access to certain military computer systems.
