Position Overview
ZenPoint Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to ensure the security and compliance of our information systems with federal regulations. This role involves assessing security measures, identifying vulnerabilities, and supporting the development of secure systems. The ISSO will collaborate with IT teams to integrate security best practices into daily operations and development processes. Key responsibilities include maintaining comprehensive security documentation, addressing system risks, and ensuring data confidentiality and regulatory compliance. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a secure and innovative technology environment while advancing the organization’s mission and objectives. This position is contingent upon the successful award of a government contract and subsequent government approval.
Clearance Requirement : Candidates must hold a minimum Interim Secret clearance and be able to secure and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment. ZenPoint can cage higher-level clearances.
Work Location : Northern Virginia
Work Schedule (On-site) : Five (5) days a week on-site at the customer’s facility
Requirements :
- Ensure compliance with Federal cybersecurity regulations, including FISMA, Privacy Act, E-Government Act, NIST SP 800 series, FIPS standards, OMB memoranda, and FedRAMP
- Maintain and improve the security posture of information systems, ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements
- Conduct information security control assessments using relevant frameworks such as NIST 800-53 Rev. 5 or newer
- Author and review accreditation artifacts, COOP and DR plans, incident response plans, ISAs, and other cybersecurity documentation
- Perform bi-weekly and ad-hoc security scans using tools such as BigFix and Tenable Nessus, and analyze results to recommend improvements
- Develop and maintain POA&Ms, ensuring timely remediation of vulnerabilities
- Conduct log analysis using tools like Splunk and automate alerts to meet compliance requirements
- Collaborate with system and network administrators, database administrators, software engineers, and other stakeholders to maintain system security
- Ensure SecDevOps principles are applied to enhance security integration within development processes
- Support the accreditation of Cloud-based information systems, including updates to system boundaries involving Cloud service providers
- Develop security policies, conduct network penetration testing, application vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, and compliance testing
- Provide expert knowledge of federal and industry best practices for information security standards and data confidentiality
- Identify and analyze security risks across desktops, servers, applications, and databases
