Position Overview
ZenPoint Solutions is seeking a Technical Lead/Senior Systems Engineer to serve as the technical authority for all tasks under the contract award. In this role, the ideal candidate will provide strategic direction for system design, development, and implementation, ensuring solutions align with contract requirements and organizational goals. They will oversee system integration, optimize performance, and lead cross-functional technical teams in delivering scalable and secure systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Agile enterprise environments and possess advanced technical leadership, cloud technologies expertise, and a deep understanding of security best practices. This position is contingent upon the successful award of a government contract and subsequent government approval.
Clearance Requirement: Candidates must hold a minimum Interim Secret clearance and be able to secure and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment. ZenPoint can cage higher-level clearances.
Work Location: Northern Virginia
Work Schedule (On-site): Five (5) days a week on-site at the customer’s facility
Requirements:- Serve as the primary technical authority, providing strategic direction for system design, development, and implementation in alignment with contract requirements and organizational goals
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable system architectures that meet performance, redundancy, and fault-tolerance requirements. Oversee system integration and ensure optimal use of cloud-native tools and services
- Lead Agile ceremonies, ensure effective execution of Agile processes, and drive continuous improvement across technical teams to optimize project delivery
- Manage cross-functional teams (e.g., developers, system administrators, QA engineers), providing technical support, mentorship, and resolution for escalated issues
- Implement security best practices, ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIST, FISMA), and mitigate risks to system security and data integrity
- Continuously monitor and optimize system performance, resolving bottlenecks and ensuring system scalability and uptime
- Serve as a bridge between technical teams, stakeholders, and leadership, ensuring clear communication of project status, risks, and decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Develop and maintain technical documentation (e.g., system design, operational procedures) and ensure knowledge transfer to relevant stakeholders to support system sustainability
- Continuously monitor emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive innovation, enhance system design, and optimize development processes
Required Qualifications
- Candidate must be a United States Citizen and present proof of Citizenship, if selected
- At least 10 years of previous experience on at least 2 major projects following enterprise Agile methodologies designing and configuring secure information technology systems that incorporate scalable, redundant web architecture, large scale data warehousing, and flexible search solutions
- DevSecOps experience is preferred
- Experience in debugging performance, load, and concurrent use issues in a distributed, multi-tiered architecture
- Proven ability to coordinate and direct technical resources including system administrators, database administrators, software developers, and quality assurance engineers
- Experience with Cloud technologies, preferably with migrating legacy systems to a Cloud or hybrid Cloud environment
- A current advanced enterprise Agile methodology certification, such as the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Release Train Engineer (RTE)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred) or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience working with federal law enforcement agencies or DOJ agencies
