Position Overview: One of our Department of State contracts is seeking a Technical Writer II (Intermediate) who possesses a strong work ethic, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and meticulous attention to detail. This role requires a collaborative professional who can work seamlessly within a cross-functional team environment. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive support to the IT service management and delivery team, which includes a variety of responsibilities such as developing and maintaining high-quality documentation, engaging directly with end-users to understand and address their needs, troubleshooting technical issues, gathering and refining requirements for IT projects, and performing manual testing to ensure system quality and performance. The role demands a proactive individual who is eager to contribute to multiple aspects of IT service delivery, enhancing overall team efficiency and effectiveness.


Clearance Requirement: Candidates must hold a minimum Interim Secret clearance and be able to secure a full scope Secret clearance if selected for this position.


Work Location: Washington, DC


Work Schedule (Onsite): Five (5) days a week onsite at the customer s facility

Requirements:
  • Review, draft and/or edit content such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), online help articles, training material, memos, meeting notes, policy documents, and customer facing communications
  • Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.
  • Analyze complex and technical information required for product development
  • Produce quality content with prompt delivery of all task and contractual deliverables associated with product development within the cadence of a two-week Agile sprint
  • Assist in meeting facilitation, including contributing to discussion and taking detailed meeting notes
  • Meet with subject-matter experts to collect and synthesize information, prepare written text and produce technical content that enhances the user experience
  • Assist with requirements gathering and planning sessions to produce accurate customer-facing documentation
  • Maintain and organize the internal document library


Required Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be a United States Citizen and present proof of Citizenship, if selected
  • 3 Years of experience as Technical Writer, Business Analyst, and/or similar role
  • Bachelor s degree in a relevant field (English, Literature, and/or Writing a plus) or equivalent work experience
  • Well-versed in Agile with a familiarity with IT
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. This includes being able to present information in a concise and logical way for reader comprehension
  • Experience creating analysis documentation for multiple audiences
  • Experience creating and using infographics such as diagrams, screenshots, charts, workflows, and graphics that increase users understanding
  • Experience working with technical and non-technical team members, and stakeholders at different levels in the IT field
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
