General Summary:
This individual is responsible for providing individual psychotherapy to clients in the Outpatient SUD department at Zepf Center. Key duties include client assessment, intake, linkage, individual and group counseling, and delivering educational presentations. The role requires a high level of professionalism and flexibility to effectively manage responsibilities. As the Clinical Team Lead, this position also involves administrative and additional clinical duties, as outlined below.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Monday-Friday 8:30AM-4:30PM
One evening day 10:00AM-6:00PM
1. Assessment and Treatment Planning:
Conduct diagnostic assessments or updates to a diagnostic assessment as clinically necessary.
Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, American Society of Addiction Medicines Level of Care (ASAM LOC) to evaluate clients' substance use disorders, mental health needs, and related issues.
Collaborate with the treatment team to develop individualized treatment plans that address identified needs and goals.
2. Individual and Group Therapy:
Provide evidence-based individual therapy sessions to clients, utilizing therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Therapy from a trauma informed lens.
Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions focusing on relapse prevention, coping skills development, and recovery support.
3. Crisis Intervention and Support:
Offer crisis intervention and emotional support to clients experiencing acute distress or setbacks in their recovery process.
Create self-care plans per the Sanctuary model as well as safety-plans to support in times of crisis.
Assist clients in developing healthy coping strategies to manage stress and cravings.
4. Psychoeducation and Family Support:
Provide clients and their families with psychoeducation on addiction, recovery, and mental health.
Collaborate with family members and natural supports to support the client's treatment and recovery journey.
5. Progress Monitoring and Documentation:
Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
Regularly assess and document client progress, adjusting treatment interventions as necessary.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary treatment team, including nurses, physicians, social workers, certified peers, and other staff members.
Attend treatment team meetings to discuss client progress and treatment planning.
7. Continued Learning and Professional Development:
Stay up to date with the latest developments in addiction treatment, therapeutic techniques, and best practices, including harm reduction.
Engage in ongoing professional development activities and training
Team Lead Responsibilities
1. Clinical Supervision
May acts as a clinical supervisor for dependently licensed staff and student interns who practice within the program. Including signing any required documents (e.g., Assessments, ASAM, ISP, Discharges)
May provide supervision group for applicable licensees to work towards independent licensure.
2. Administrative Oversight
Train new staff and student interns in the program.
Monitors accurate and timely submission of documentation of assigned staff.
Works with department supervisor to monitor program Key Performance Indicators, identifies trends and assists in problem solving for quality improvement.
3. Programmatic Development
Participates in providing training and consultation to team staff and other departments regarding clinical topics such as: Diagnostic Assessment updates, ASAM LOC placement to ensure clients receive the clinically appropriate services to meet their needs, effective treatment planning approaches, clinical development of less experienced clinicians.

Environmental Conditions
Could include Air-conditioned and/or heated office setting, time spent “in the field”, which could involve driving to residences, schools, doctor’s offices, and various locations in the community. Could also include transporting patients to and from appointment.
Position Qualifications:
- Master’s degree required.
- LPCC, LISW, willing to obtain supervision designation within 6 months.
- Has 2 years of work experience providing psychotherapy.
Those eligible to drive company vehicles must have a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage as defined by the agency commercial insurance carrier. Those who drive personal vehicles during business must be able to provide proof of insurance.
