The Commercial Director will support the CRO to develop and execute commercially lucrative gasoline offset and investment strategies, strategic partnerships and sponsorship deals in line with the Zero Petroleum strategic plan specifically for the automotive sector – primarily motor racing, super cars and premium automotive companies.

Work pattern
Normal working hours are 09.00-18.00 Mon – Fri. However, this role will require someone who is able to work and travel on weekends when business demands require it and is able to work collaboratively with colleagues in other time zones e.g. UK.

Accountabilities And Responsibilities
- Deliver against annual personal KPIs and new business commercial targets, aligned to business strategic plan for profitable growth
- Work closely with the Executive Leadership team to ensure that networks and opportunities are being explored and aligned
- Act as a ‘hunter’ for new market opportunities, from opportunity identification through to close of deal, including drafting of commercial terms, pitches and pricing that deliver against plan, for the CRO to approve.
- Actively develop, nurture and maintain the new commercial relationships and prospect pipeline.
- Achieve and exceed personal annual new business and commercial targets of qualified opportunities and prospect meetings.
- Lead new opportunities, and build stakeholder relationships based on opportunity for the present and the future
- Collaborate with the Technical Team to ensure that there is synergy between commercial activity and insights and technical development and product.
- Continuous outbound prospecting of new business growth opportunities through:
- Commercial partnerships
- Customer/Partnership bids, presentations and proposals
- Attendance at Automotive sector events where required
- Other new business lead generation efforts
- Direct the production of market research to identify new markets and opportunities.
- Manage, track and report on new business activity through the CRM system.
- A highly competitive market where the drive for sustainable fuel options are becoming increasingly important
- Complex business development process across a global market
- Ability to forge senior strategic relationships and develop them into commercially advantageous deals for Zero.

Job knowledge, skills and experiences
- Extensive experience in the automotive sector, engaging with senior leaders, particularly in racing, motorbikes, supercars, and hypercars, across both small and large production segments.
- A sound understanding and experience of working with large international companies
- Demonstrable success in developing new profitable markets and/or product and investment opportunities
- Confident and credible in face-to-face and virtual meetings
- Conduct business in line with Zero Petroleum values
- Clear organisation skills and focus on attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding presentation and tendering skills
- Evidence of taking accountability and showing initiative to deliver results
- Genuine focus and commitment on delivering customer delight
- Strong prospecting experience, qualification technique and closing ability
- Track record of working alone, as well as part of a team
- Ability to clearly report and draw conclusions from your activity and commercial opportunities incl. forecast & pipeline.
- Interest in the renewables industry
- Experience of successfully developing business in the U.S. market and trading globally
