What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Superintendent (Off-Shift) position at ZF Group?
The team plays a vital role in driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations, focusing on safety, quality, cost-efficiency, and customer satisfaction. They are responsible for managing manufacturing processes, leading personnel, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies. The team also plays a key part in resource budgeting, performance management, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers to achieve shared goals.
Your responsibilities as a Production Superintendent:
- Actively participate as a strategic member of the ZF management team with a customer focused approach on safety, quality, deliver, cost, and morale to ensure continuous improvement in all facets of the business.
- Manage all manufacturing/assembly activities to manufacture and produce quality parts in a cost-efficient manner.
- Plan, select, design, and develop manufacturing methods and processes through continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques.
- Lead, direct, and supervise the activities of all exempt personnel and indirect support functions.
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers to meet common goals.
- Manage the team within our production system, (Safety, ISO, QS, TS, etc.) company policies, and procedures.
- Review and approve employee timecards in Payroll system including vacation, PTO, etc. in a timely manner.
- Hire, manage, develop, and evaluate department personnel and be accountable for performance management to include coaching, corrective counseling, and disciplinary actions, submitting employee step progressions, performance reviews, and any other ZF documentation relative to employee’s performance.
- Budget manpower, equipment, capital, and resources necessary to meet customer and company requirements and assure adherence to the approved budget.
- Other duties as it relates to this position.
Your profile as a Production Superintendent:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 6 years of progressive experience in a professional position with a strong production interface
- 3 years of experience in project management and/or supervisory function
- Strong computer skills are required: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Project, etc.
- Problem-solving skills and communication ability, both verbal and written
- Expert level knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within manufacturing/operations
- Proven ability to use and train individuals to use production/manufacturing equipment
- Advanced knowledge of plant operations management and lean principles, processes, and techniques
- Ability to prioritize and schedule daily tasks
