What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator, 2nd Shift position at Zildjian?
Description
2nd shift Availability, 3pm -1am. Shift Differential Provided, Monday - Thursday Schedule, with Friday Overtime Available!
- Frequently lifting castings weighing up to 16 lbs. and loading them onto a tray (while in a standing position) during a 10 hour shift.
- Pick red-hot castings off of tray with short rake, separate and pass over to rolling mill.
- Change dies with use of various tools
- Use pliers to grab and pull blank out of press and toss into quench tank on angle.
- Frequent bending and twisting
- Constant exposure to hot environment
- Maintain established quality and quantity standards.
- Follow prescribed safety precautions, established company and department policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
- Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and questionable conditions to proper supervision.
- Maintain work area(s) and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
- Maintain daily production and other records as required.
- Provide assistance to other team members as requested by team leader
- Perform other related duties as required or directed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required. At least 3 months experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Lift 15 pounds
- Awareness of OSHA & Safety standards. Knowledge of lean manufacturing a plus.
- Requires English reading, writing, adding, subtracting, decimals, fractions, simple arithmetic that is involved in carrying out work instructions.
