Based in Milwaukee, our Corporate Event Designer role is pivotal in driving business development and promoting our exclusive, preferred venues for corporate events. We are seeking a dynamic individual who not only excels in sales but is also enthusiastic about creating extraordinary corporate experiences, poised to elevate our business to new heights.
What You'll Do
This dual position will be a 50/50 position of booking and executing large corporate events, maintaining current corporate relationships, cultivating new corporate clients and creating and implementing corporate outreach programs. The balance will come at different times when corporate is most present.
Business & Community Outreach - This business development side includes prospecting, developing, and maintaining new and past/dormant clients of Zilli Hospitality Group. This involves making individual appointments, attending networking events and mini open houses. This role also works closely with our Marketing team(s) to organize Zilli Hospitality Group Open Houses during the year.
As a Corporate Event Designer, you are ½ of a power-house team, delivering personal customer service experiences with your Event Producer. The individual in this role will be organized and systems-driven, with experience in selling both corporate and social events, but with a key focus on Corporate. They will also understand revenue management, and the intricacies of advanced sales processes. Event Designers showcase passion, energy, and pride in everything they do, and possess the ability to lead, mentor, motivate and develop existing sales associates.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of sales and customer service-related business experience.
- Hospitality or related field experience.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Solid analytical skills related to revenue generation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Capable of interacting with multiple teleconferencing and social media platforms.
- Flexibility to accommodate hours that may include some evenings and weekends, despite primarily a Monday-Friday workweek.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to conduct weekly structured sales meetings.
- Ability to study and improve existing procedures and standards.
- Understanding of analysis of reports, audits, and project management.
- Experience with information systems related to event planning management (beneficial).
- Knowledge of forecasting systems, yield management, goal setting, and profit/loss analysis.
- Strong understanding of revenue management principles.
- Demonstrated dependability.
- Valid driver's license and access to insured transportation.
Business & Community Outreach
- Cultivates and brings new corporate business to Zilli Hospitality Group.
- Expands current corporate list by reviewing past files for further refining and development.
- Develops corporate prospecting/selling cycle for accurate marketing.
- Develops and implements standard operating procedure (SOP) for ZHG to consist of mini open houses, marketing annual events such as picnics, holidays, proms, non-profit/fundraisers, galas, grand openings, and anniversaries.
- Attends networking events to prospect and connect with other peers in the business.
- Holds quarterly meetings with Vice President and other Business Development and/or Marketing associates to give updates, strategize on future projects and/or hosted events for the next quarter.
- Connects with clients and further develops relationships.
- Entertains clients as warranted.
- Develops partnerships with local vendors, hotels, entertainment, venues and transportation.
- Fosters a healthy working environment based on mutual respect and camaraderie.
- Receives leads via phone, email, in-person, and referrals; follows the lead management procedures.
- Becomes the valued resource for social and corporate clients on all packages, as well as the details and rules of the venue.
- Conducts in-person and virtual venue tours, both private and group interface with all clients.
- Attends and participates in sales meetings and team building events.
- Recognizes and pursues new and repeat business through prospecting calls, site visits, open house, and networking events.
- Develops and maintains market awareness to ensure the ability to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies.
- Monitors pricing and sales minimums to ensure pricing is within an acceptable range based on available inventory, revenue, and market conditions.
- Prepares annual marketing/sales and budget plans.
