What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Database Engineer position at Zillion Technologies, Inc.?
Job Description:
- The team supports both cloud architecture and on prem. The team is actively involved in product certifications, solutioning, migration solutioning support etc.
- Production support will not be required for this role.
- There are currently a total of 1000 servers that the team supports, both in prod and non-prod environments. Experience in a similar environment may be a deciding factor for the candidate’s suitability for the role.
- The candidate must have SME level experience in MSSQL. Candidate who has experience in MSSQL (ver.2019), SQL Server, performance tuning, performance monitoring, PowerShell scripting, product certifications (for new releases), database security (remediations, vulnerability management) etc..
- Experience in other databases are preferred. Some of the other databases the Client frequently uses are Sybase, DB2, Oracle, MongoDB etc.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- :More than seven years of experience working as a database engineer
- .Strong database administration experience on MS-SQL Server
- .Experience in installation, configuration and migration with MS-SQL database platforms
- .Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- .Strong database performance tuning skills - query optimization and server tuning with MSSQL platforms
- .Possesses deep understanding of MSSQL internals and Optimizer functioning and ability to apply the skills to trouble-shoot real time production issues
- .Provide deployment support for database objects in production and test environment
- .Extremely comfortably in power shell scripting with prior experience in writing and maintaining complex scripts to perform database maintenance
- .Experience in migrating SQL platform to industry standard versions
- .Execute large database migration projects independently
- .Experience with standard database monitoring
