Location: Zim’s Bagging Company – Office Department
Reports To: Executive Vice President
Type: Full-Time | In-Office | Overtime Required
Are you a detail-oriented, people-first professional who’s passionate about policy, payroll, and everything HR? Zim’s Bagging Company is looking for a Human Resources Administrator to support our growing team and play a key role in shaping our company culture, compliance, and internal communications.
What You’ll Do:
- Administer requested program paperwork for executive mgt. in areas other than HR.
- Work directly with upper management to create, update, and communicate company policies and procedures.
- Manage confidential employee data and ensure strict compliance with labor laws and regulations like FMLA, ADA, NLRA, and more.
- Coordinate recruitment, hiring, and onboarding efforts—including job fairs, applications, interviews, and orientations.
- Handle payroll-related data entry and reporting, including insurance, training records, W-4s, and direct deposits.
- Administer employee benefits, report terminations/resignations, and manage Workers’ Comp claims.
- Lead or assist in employee training sessions, using tools like PowerPoint, SHRM resources, and Teams.
- This is a manufacturing company so be prepared for unique challenges.
- Provide support for unemployment claims, audits, and grant submissions.
- Supervise general admin staff and ensure efficient front office operations including phone coverage and guest reception.
- Organize company events such as the annual Christmas luncheon, company picnic, and employee appreciation events.
What You’ll Need:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or a business-related field plus 4 years HR experience
- – OR –
- 4 years of hands-on HR experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and general business principles
- Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and experience with HR software such as Great Plains Payroll and ShopVue.
- Confidence using Google, Indeed, LinkedIn, Facebook, and other tools to support HR functions
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Bonus if you have:
- SHRM membership or certification (or interest in pursuing one—we’ll subscribe you!)
- Experience coordinating training or continuing education programs
- Knowledge of the flexographic printing or converting industry
