Zing Recruiting in partnership with a leading manufacturing organization is seeking to hire a skilled CNC Machinist to join their Olathe, KS team. The ideal candidate will work in CNC machining centers and be responsible for manufacturing and fabricating precision machined parts that meet customer and quality specifications across various types of CNC machines.
Reports to: Production Supervisor or Lead
Hours: 6pm-6:30am or 6am-6:30pm, either Thu-Sat or Sun-Tue (both with alternating Weds)

Responsibilities
- Operate and manage all duties associated with a CNC Machine Operator.
- Follow the sequence of operations and set up requirements without supervision.
- Set machine and tool offsets; confirm other machinists’ offsets on non-First Article parts.
- Provide technical assistance and coaching to CNC Machine Operators.
- Maintain adherence to the Production Dispatch List and production metrics.
- Properly stage materials, tools, and fixtures to support the production schedule for assigned machines, minimizing changeover time.
- Provide feedback to Engineering and Quality to improve processes and reduce cycle times.
- Troubleshoot and reestablish work and tool offsets as required to ensure quality production; report all machine malfunctions to Maintenance or Applications.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of Milling Machine experience preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Experience with troubleshooting is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with AS9100 or other Quality Management Systems is preferred.
- Measurement Tools: Proficient in using measurement tools (e.g., caliper, micrometer, height gauge).
- Programming Skills: Ability to read programs.
- Machine Setup: Knowledge and ability to set up and utilize tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various machines.
- Problem Solving: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Multi-tasking: Capability to handle and manage multiple machines.
- Education: High School Diploma, GED, or ability to demonstrate basic written, reading, verbal, and math skills.
