Commodity Buyer - Travel Services

An exciting opportunity for a Corporate Services Buyer to join a Leading Manufacturer in the Troy, Michigan area. The Corporate Services Buyer will be responsible for managing all aspects of associated indirect suppliers and delivering the best level of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Corporate Services include IT, Travel, HR, SG&A and additional Indirect Materials and Services categories. The target focus of this role would be Travel Services.

This is a Hybrid position with 3 days on-site and 2 days remote

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or IT
• 3 years of experience in Indirect Procurement
• 3 years of experience around Travel Commodities
• Solid knowledge of cost drivers and supply base for IT and other assigned commodities
• Significant expertise in legal contract negotiations and risk management
• Experience working with global supply base and internal stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills with emphasis on formal presentations
• Advanced MS Office skills
  
  

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute commodity strategies for the assigned commodities. Continuously enhance purchasing expertise and knowledge of the local and global market trends.
• Pursue systematic TCO reductions and value enhancements for the assigned commodities. Track KPI’s and deliver reports as assigned.
• Execute comprehensive Request for Quote (RFQ) process and support functional users in a timely manner while minimizing the risk and maximizing the value for the company
• Identify and develop strategic supply sources for the assigned commodities. Manage relationships with all suppliers, resolve supplier issues and optimize suppliers’ performance.
• Support general business activities and requirements of the specific functional groups.
