Zing Recruiting, in partnership with an established flavor manufacturer in the Plainfield, NJ area is on the search for an experienced Flavor/Food R&D Scientist to join the team on a direct hire/perm basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work for an industry leader!

Location: Plainfield, NJ

Hours: 8am-4:30pm

Salary: 90-110K

Flavors/Food R&D Scientist Responsibilities

• Lead research tests to develop new formulas for beverages, nutritional bars, and confectionary products.
• Formulate new products based on input from Marketing and Senior Leaders, ensuring technical feasibility and market competitiveness
• Leverage your knowledge of confectionary systems to develop creative and delicious products that meet sensory and nutritional standards.
• Manage the innovation laboratory, troubleshooting instrumentation and ensuring accurate and efficient testing processes.
• Develop formulas that cater to health trends.
• Organize and lead sensory research sessions
• Design and conduct shelf-life studies.
• Present findings and new product concepts to various teams and leadership.
• Stay informed about regulations and ensure all formulations comply with food safety standards.
  
  

Flavors/Food R&D Scientist Qualifications:

• BS, MS, or MBS in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Chemistry, or a similar field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
• 5 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 3 years with a master’s degree. Experience in beverage, nutritional bar, and baked goods development are required.
• Knowledge of ingredient interactions specific to nutritional bars, confectionary systems, and beverage formulation is essential
