Fleet Accounting Clerk

We’re looking for a meticulous and reliable Fleet Accounting Specialist to join our transportation team. In this role, you’ll oversee driver compensation processes, manage day-to-day financial activities, and ensure adherence to fuel tax reporting regulations. This position is ideal for someone who is numbers-driven, thrives under deadlines, and enjoys collaborating with both finance and operations teams.

Primary Responsibilities

• Process driver settlements and cash advances with precision and punctuality
• Input and verify accounts payable transactions, ensuring proper categorization and approvals
• Conduct regular reconciliations of company bank accounts
• Prepare and submit IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement) returns on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Communicate with dispatchers, drivers, and other departments to address and resolve payment issues
• Maintain up-to-date and well-organized financial documentation
• Use QuickBooks for accounting tasks and Korber TMS for managing transportation processes
• Leverage Office 365 tools (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.) for documentation and collaboration
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in an accounting or finance-related role, preferably in the transportation sector
• Solid knowledge of driver pay, A/P processes, and account reconciliation
• Familiarity with IFTA compliance and reporting is strongly preferred
• Comfortable working with QuickBooks, Korber TMS, and Office 365 applications
• Background in a logistics, fleet, or transportation company preferred
• Understanding of DOT guidelines and transportation industry language
