The Director of Accounting & Finance is responsible for leading and managing the financial accounting functions of the organization. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. The Director of Accounting & Finance plays a pivotal role in the financial health and strategic decision-making of the organization. This position requires a detail-oriented and strategic thinker who can effectively lead a team while ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of financial operations. Additionally, staying updated with evolving accounting standards and industry best practices is crucial in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Manage the financial accounting systems and processes, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions.
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets for internal and external stakeholders.
- Present financial data to executive leadership, offering insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
- Manage and lead the accounting team, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure their professional development and effectiveness.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment within the accounting department
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and accounting principles.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing strategies to safeguard the company's financial assets.
- Collaborate with executive management to develop financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Proven experience (3 years) in a senior-level accounting or finance role, with a track record of leadership and management.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; advanced knowledge of Excel is required.
Salary : $85,000 - $110,000
