We are seeking a Data Analyst to join Zions Bancorporation. This Data Analyst will help us acquire, process, and analyze data from Enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and other data repositories to support financial or analytical reporting. This Data Analyst will become a SME in banking information in partnership with the Financial Analysts and other database specialists.
The Data Analyst will:
- Apply business analytics to define, identify, and obtain source data from various sources such as Enterprise Data Warehouse and Data Lake; analyze, map and transform the data to support Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) including Shareholder Value Added (SVA), Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), Revenue Recognition, Expense Allocations, Capital Costs and Allocations
- Work closely with business partners to gather data requirements; align their needs with source data capabilities; develop new technical artifacts or upgrade existing processes.
- Work with business units to troubleshoot and research data issues.
- Test, validate, and reconcile data attributes based both on source data and results from financial reports to assure the data accurately reflects the source system and business needs.
- Explain data, data scope, impact of data changes to various reporting teams to help non-technical, internal customers to drive their analytics and reporting.
- Create and maintain clear, detailed and accurate metadata documentation.
Qualifications:
- Very strong SQL background
- Experience with creating business intelligence solutions (Qlik Sense, SAP Business Object Reports, Power BI)
- Requires strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with others at all levels of technical understanding
- Strong organizational, presentation, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Requires a Bachelors’ degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or other technical discipline and 2 years’ experience in data analytics. (Expertise in banking and financial services preferable)
- Must be able to meet deadlines, positive attitude, team player
- A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
Location:
This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
