Pharmacy Technician (Retail)

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, ensuring patient safety and effective medication administration. This position is essential in a hospital or clinical setting, particularly within critical care environments, where precision and adherence to medical protocols are paramount.

Duties

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
• Perform medication administration under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.
• Maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals, including ordering and restocking supplies as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations, including aseptic technique when preparing IV infusions.
• Provide excellent patient care by answering questions related to medications and health products.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes through effective medication management.
• Document medication administration and maintain accurate patient records using medical terminology.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with pharmacy practices and advancements.

Skills

• Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician or in a similar role within a healthcare setting.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, particularly related to pharmacy and patient care.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, particularly in the context of IV infusion preparation.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments, especially within critical care settings.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare team members.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in pharmacy practice.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $1,400.00 - $1,600.00 per week
