As a Medical Assistant at Zoe Primary Care you will :
Handle clinical tasks such as preparing patients for examinations, and assisting with medical treatment.
Coordinate with others to share ideas, solve problems, and provide back-up for administrative functions as needed.
Contribute to maintaining high standards of patient care and satisfaction.
Responsibilities :
Prepare patients for examinations; take patient history and vital signs; collect and prepare laboratory specimens; instruct patients about medications, diet, and exercise; explain treatment procedures.
Administer medications as directed by a provider, give injections, conduct point-of-care testing, and assist with treatment procedures.
Prepare clinic for daily operations, inventory medical supplies regularly, ensure examination rooms are clean, and clean rooms between patients.
Input lab / imaging results; process medication refill requests and authorizations.
Facilitate orders / referrals to specialists or other healthcare facilities as directed by providers.
Address patient concerns and escalate issues to appropriate healthcare personnel or manager when necessary.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation; ensure confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations regarding patient information.
Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits as needed; assist patients with insurance-related inquiries and coordinate with insurance providers as needed.
Support healthcare providers and clinical staff with administrative tasks as needed.

Follow-up - Monitors and evaluates progress on working assignments, commitments, processes, etc. with little or no supervision to ensure timely and successful completion of assigned tasks.
Responsiveness - Responds to others' ideas, suggestions, and disagreements in a timely, constructive, and non-defensive manner; creates open lines of communication with others to build trust.
Experience and Education Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant training program.
Certification from an accredited program preferred (e.g., Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)).
1 year of experience as a medical assistant in a Primary Care or Family Medicine practice preferred.
Computer, multi-line phone systems, office equipment, Microsoft Office preferred.
Fluency in medical preferred.
Physical Requirements
Able to lift & carry items up to 15 lbs. 50% of the day.
Able to use hands and fingers to operate equipment such as a computer, tablet or smart phone, must be able to key in payments using electronic devices.
Able to stand, kneel, bend at knees, squat throughout the day.
Able to sit at a desk comfortably while working on a computer, for extended periods of time.
