The Tax Manager plays an important role in the company's accounting department, compliance, US & and international accounting, and financial audits. The individual adheres to the company's accounting operation policies, compliance with global standards, and aligns with the strategic objectives of the organization.
What you will be doing:
- Responsible for developing and overseeing the tax function for Zonda, managing a range of tax related services and complying with relevant laws and regulations within specified timeframes
- Working with outside tax advisors on key strategic projects and tax planning initiatives, including but not limited to transfer pricing, VDA agreement filings, R&D filings
- Managing all US and foreign tax filings
- Prepare reporting for sales and use tax returns on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis across a number of states and countries
- Preparation of workpapers for Federal, State and local income and franchise tax returns, extensions and estimates
- Managing tax provision process and reviewing financial statement disclosures
- Research and respond to state inquiries and tax notices
- Assist with taxability setup/mapping of products across business lines
- Review general ledger tax account reconciliations
- Manage exemption certificate process
- Perform taxability research and provide guidance to business on contracts/agreements tax treatment
- Support the accounting and other functional teams to address and resolve business and sales tax issues
- Overseeing and organizing tax audits as applicable
- Providing tax support for transactions such as M&A activities, including managing tax due diligence and tax planning
- Stay current on tax matters, assist with research on technical accounting topics and implementing new accounting standards
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Minimum of 3 years’ tax accounting experience
- Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to federal and state tax code
- Possess superior organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work effectively with internal and external professionals at all levels
- Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work independently and build working relationships across global teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
