Job Summary:
Demonstrates a high level of customer service by working with customers, account managers and contractors to coordinate and create material lists for design projects in a timely and professional manner. Create, maintain, and update estimates of various complexity using customer & contractor drawings, sketches and verbal direction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Perform detailed take-offs on various plans (new construction, remodels, additions and various commercial projects)
- Size joists, beams, and headers with the aid of manufacturer’s software
- Create floor joist layouts
- Interact with truss manufacturers
- Stays current with all local and state codes
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must hold at least 2 year architectual or structual degree or 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Must have the ability to read and understand blueprints
- Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, to make metric system conversions, exchange rates, and discount calculations and experience with computers.
- Demonstrates a professional attitude when approaching work assignments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, self-motivated, sense of pride and urgency, personable, well organized
