About the role

A highly engaged customer base who knows how to get the most out of our product means happier customers, faster and more scalable onboarding, less support issues, better retention and many other great outcomes.


So why is it so hard? That’s what you are going to help us solve.


You will be the foundational hire in our Training and Education team, reporting to the Vice President of GTM, and will help Zuma build world-class enablement programs for our customers that are the best our industry has ever seen.


You will drive this across two dimensions. The first is scalable digital content in the form of videos, interactive courses, and deep training content housed in an LMS and/or shared SCORM that our customers can ingest into their LMS. Working with feedback from our Head of Customer Success, Chief Product Officer, Customer Support, Sales and other stakeholders, you will be responsible for the architecture, syllabus, and ultimately producing the content that is distributed to our customers.


The second dimension is live training. One of Zuma’s core principles is we “Move Into the Customer's Office”. We don't just observe our customers—we live and breathe their challenges to build solutions that truly matter.


A critical component of this philosophy is onsite training, both for new and existing customers. By showing up and building relationships and imparting expertise in person, we generate unique insights and shared experiences that our competitors do not. You will also be responsible for building a team of elite in-person trainers as the company grows.


You will ensure that customers are trained and onboarded efficiently and that they LOVE working with Zuma. The training will be delivered in ways that delight and surprise our customers as compared to boring trainings that no one wants to show up for!

Why You Shouldn't Join

  • You are not ready for the occasional 50-60 hour work week right now or the occasional weekend of work.
  • You are not comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment that has some ambiguity and little structure today.
  • You are not ready for what some may consider a risky career opportunity. Even with our growth, we are still an early-stage startup. If you need something highly predictable, this is not the right fit.
  • You’re not excited about AI and what it can do to transform property management companies. You won’t be able to succeed in this role unless you love our customers and want to truly help them in whatever way possible.
  • You aren’t able to travel frequently (US and Canada only).


Responsibilities

  • Build a differentiated digital training program that drives results across various modalities (eLearning, instructor-led training, blended learning, etc.).
  • Analyze organizational learning needs, identify gaps, and propose solutions to address them.
  • Find the right elevation and mix of channels across multiple personas to ensure adoption (and fun!)
  • Measure the efficacy of your training programs qualitatively and quantifiably to demonstrate impact on satisfaction, expansion, and retention.
  • Help Zuma become known for “showing up and showing out” and embodying our “Move Into the Customer’s Office” core principle.


Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in a training, enablement, or marketing role where your goals revolved around new customer or employee onboarding and training.
  • Excellent technical written communication skills.
  • Hands-on proficiency with AI-leveraged content authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Clueso, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, Agile).
  • Metrics-driven & an experimental mindset.
  • Previous experience at a Series A or Series B startup.
  • Bonus: Deep knowledge and hands-on experience working with or training on PMS and CRM systems such as Yardi, RealPage, Knock, and Entrata.

Note, this role is based in Santa Monica, CA. We use a hybrid work model of a minimum of 3 days in the office per week. While remote work is amazing for many roles and successful for many companies, at Zuma, we believe that human interaction and collaboration is critical to helping us achieve our goals, and more enjoyable! As such, our strong preference is for candidates to work from our amazing office in downtown Santa Monica (1 block from the beach)!
