About Us:
We are a dynamic and forward-thinking company operating in the Offshore Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy sectors. As our current Financial Controller transitions into retirement, we are seeking an accomplished, energetic, and solutions-oriented professional to step into this pivotal role. You will work closely with the outgoing Controller during a structured handover period, ensuring a seamless transition.
Position Overview:
As Financial Controller, reporting directly to the President, you will lead our accounting and financial operations while building and maintaining a strong, collaborative office culture. This is a hands-on role requiring expertise in day-to-day financial management and a drive to support our company’s growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and produce financial statements.
- Manage general ledger setup, system mapping, and financial reporting.
- Perform daily accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, cash flow analysis, and financial reconciliations.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis for management review.
- Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations and reviews.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Train team members in accounting/finance processes as needed.
- Manage payroll and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax/reporting requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for banking, investment, and financial vendors.
- Participate in strategic planning to improve operations and profitability.
- Conduct inventory assessments and maintain asset records.
- Organize and maintain financial reports, contracts, and vendor documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (CPA or CMA certification and advanced degrees are a plus).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in small business accounting, with 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Experience in the oil field service industry or a related field (international exposure preferred).
- Strong attention to detail, multitasking ability, and deadline management.
- A proactive, “do-what-it-takes” mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screening.
