**Job Description**
We are seeking an experienced Middle Markets Underwriter at the Mid-Senior or Senior level to join our team in Pittsburgh. As a customer advocate, you will improve the customer experience by understanding their unique risks and offering end-to-end solutions for their Middle Markets insurance needs.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, partners, and customers across all industries in support of business objectives.
- Leverage underwriting acumen to assess risks, evaluate exposures, and price policies to generate and maintain a profitable book of new and renewal business.
- Collaborate with business units, including claims, finance, risk engineering, actuary, and technical underwriting, to gain extensive knowledge in a growing and innovative industry.
- Empower employees to use technical underwriting, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to grow and develop relationships with preferred distribution partners in assigned territories.
**Requirements**
- Mid-Senior: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including Associate Degree and 1 year of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including Associate Degree and 4 years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area.
- Senior Level: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including Associate Degree and 3 years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including Associate Degree and 8 years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area.
- Knowledge of line/s of business and legal and regulatory guidelines.
- Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Microsoft Office experience.
