Zwicker is presently seeking an experienced litigator to join our dynamic team in New York as a Senior Litigation Attorney. The base salary range for this position is $120,000.00-$125,000.00 per year.

Responsibilities Include
- Litigation of complex, contested, and high balance commercial collection matters in the state of New York
- Extensive litigation skillset, which includes the expertise to effectively handle all phases and aspects of highly contested lawsuits
- Provide expert level guidance and counsel regarding litigation of New York matters to both staff and clients/upper management
- Trial and deposition preparation, including witness and evidence preparation, and preparation of trial memoranda
- Successfully prosecute trials and depositions, including direct and cross examination, and oral argument regarding admissibility of proffered evidence and testimony
- Successfully argue summary judgment motions, discovery dispute motions, and other motion practice
- Effectively prepare motions and memoranda involving unique, novel or complex legal issues
- Competently conduct legal research, objectively identifying caselaw and preparing an accurate analysis of the state of the law
- Review litigation case files and pleadings to determine appropriate action
- Reviewing, drafting, and signing pleadings both independently and as prepared by staff
- Analyze assigned inventory reports, communicating analysis to the managing attorney and/or office manager, and taking appropriate action
- Mentoring associate attorneys, including case review, preparing oral argument, and reviewing associate attorney work product
- Communicate effectively and appropriately with team members and outside parties
- Utilize internal proprietary software to properly update and document the status of each account in the assigned inventory
- Comply with all client and firm standard operating procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Superior contested litigation acumen within the state of New York
- Ability to competently handle all phases and aspects of highly complex and contested cases in New York
- Ability to provide expert level guidance and counsel on handling of New York litigation matters to the firm and its clients
- A strong sense of initiative and drive to obtain excellent results for the firm and its clients
- Excellent verbal and written advocacy
- Comprehensive understanding of litigation, client and collections operations
- Willingness and ability to mentor associate attorneys
- Minimum 5 years litigation experience
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Highly motivated self-starter
- Eager to learn
- Be able to lift five pounds or greater
- Be able to sit 90% of the work day at times
- Be able to bend at the waist and be mobile when needed
- Be able to read and comprehend position specific documents and correspondence
- Be able to communicate in a common language with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing
- Be able to travel occasionally when needed by the most efficient means of transportation
- Be able to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device
- Be able to complete a minimum of a 40-hour flexible workweek schedule
